Rock’n’Roll Dreams
Thesis Documentary | Technical Producer
-
Documentary about Canadian backing vocalist Rory Dodd, who sang on many big hits like Bat Out of Hell with Meatloaf, Total Eclipse of the Heart with Bonnie Tyler, and so many more. He never got the credit or recognition until now.
-
For this documentary, I act as the Technical Producer, which means I oversee the recruitment and training of crew, acquisition of crew, lining out logistics of the production, like scheduling and timelines, and overseeing the editing process.

It all begins with an idea. This project was completed as my thesis practicum for my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media Production. The concept was developed in a theory class, where we got to bring it to life after hours of pre-production development.

This documentary outlines the life of Rory Dodd, a Canadian singer who lives in Port Dover, Ontario. While filming, we travelled to the town and were met with the best hospitality. To pay back the town’s kindness, we plan to hold multiple free screenings of the documentary, where they can meet Rory, enjoy free refreshments, and hear the story of their neighbour.
